The 2nd SASKVAL International Workshop on Validation and Regulatory
Analysis of Residues in Foods is scheduled for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,
June 19 - 22, 2011.
View the 2011 Workshop Programme
The Workshop, the only one of its kind held in North and South America, will provide a forum for laboratory analysts and regulators to discuss the validation of analytical methods used in residue control programmes and the subsequent use/acceptance of the results if challenged by producers or courts of law.
The primary focus of the Workshop is residues (veterinary drugs,
pesticides) and contaminants in foods, however, other major related topics will include:
● programme design and quality management of residue control programmes,
● the development and validation of multi-residue analytical methods,
● current international initiatives,
● novel applications, new emerging technologies and methods of analysis,
● risk assessment and risk management procedures for residue
control programmes
Please note, the following event:
MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2011
Evening Panel/Stakeholder meeting to discuss new CCRVDF Guidance document on the Criteria for multi-residue analysis for veterinary drug residues.
The Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Food (CCRVDF) has recognised that there is very limited guidance on performance criteria for analytical methods used in analyses for veterinary drug residues. Performance criteria have previously been agreed by the CCRVDF for single analyte methods (see CAC/GL 71-2009) and an initial paper has been drafted on how this might be tackled for multi-residue use. It is hoped that participants in the SaskVal II discussion will help further inform the development of this guidance for Codex.
Delegates registering for this session will receive a copy of the latest draft document on multi-residue methods by email approximately one month before SaskVal II to allow them to prepare for the discussion.
This event is by separate registration. If you are interested, please indicate your attendance at this event on the registration form. Buffet supper will be provided for registered participants.
